hand cranking the engine?

i have looked through the owners manual at what it says you should do when storing the bike for a while. i am likely to put it away end of october for the winter and want to store it properly.

the handbook says to remove spark plugs and pour a little engine oil down the bores to lubricate them. it says then to hand crank the engine over, presumeably to get the pistons to smear the oil about.

so...how exactly do you hand crank an engine on a 900ss please?

very easy to do with the sparkies out. give it a few more revs to spread the oil around.
