in my "OPINION" for what is worth and i am only a member, those that are not allowed to view message boards with the type of content we are discussing whilst at work would be better of working, which is what they are being paid to do instead of using the message board.

The content of the photos i have seen posted by Dibble are no more explicit than that on the TV before the water shed.

I thought that belonging to DSC would have prooved fun but it appears that there are too many primadonnas with stuffy attitudes, maybe I wasted my money.

Its a motorcycle forum for goodness sake get a grip !

Put into the perspective that there are bstards out there looking to blow away your families and friends, arnt we getting a trifle carried away with the posting of some scantily clad females.

Dibble, it was funny to begin with, but has lost its direction a bit mate! im sure you could just move on somewhat, back to your ever witty self?

Its not life and death, i, like other have been tempted into just taking the psss, but some are way toooo serious.

However, it is a much viewed board, covering a multitude of members, and we do need to respect that!

Personally i can get by with out these photos being posted............ I can allways find them if i really needed to!

everyone chill..........

IMO Dibble is'nt doing anything terrible, and as he is using links from now on, then there is no further need for discussion surely? This is a bikers forum and used by a wide variety of people with a wide variety of tastes, lets not let the ott world of political correctness spoil what should be a "fun"And as for Dibbles attitude putting women off bikes? I think that is just absurd surely these ladies can accept that in all walks of life they will encounter attitudes that they disagree with but that doe's not mean they are wrong attitudes, just differrent. Try a little tolerance now that Dibble has gone with the link.

I wanted to keep out of this myself as a few people see involvement by me as some sort of red rag excuse to go off at a tangent. Please can we keep this on topic?

Once again the MT are put in a no win situation, damned if we do, damned if don’t. I will say that I am disappointed that this is now in the public forum; - I noticed that you sent a u2u message to the webteam but have now gone “public”, not sure if that is due to impatience from no reply or dissatisfaction with the reply.

As it happens we had a full MT meeting yesterday and this was discussed at length, the webteam were following instruction from a unanimous decision by the MT, - although I must add and hope that you will appreciate this is not about what we the MT find offensive it is about responsibility to members, which is our primary function

Firstly we had complaints, if we have a complaint from somebody out of respect for that person (or in this case a few people) we will look at the situation. The reasons for those complaints ranged from personal taste, questions about the value they bring to this message board, and the primary reason from quite a few people is that having them here will mean that they will get in trouble with their employers, - serious trouble including disciplinary action as viewing breaks in some cases a signed code of conduct on internet use.

What I guess is that most of you do not realise is that whilst we are not hosting them we are linking anybody opening the thread to a site that will be on a banned list. E.g. if the picture is on bigjugs.com the persons browsing our thread will look as if he is looking at bigjugs.com. Now if we knowing that allow this to continue are we not negligent in our responsibility to members? Members that have complained about this. What I did not myself realise until yesterday was that even avatars hosted by banned sites will have the same effect. Perhaps some of you do not have experience of some of the bigger corporations but there are plenty of people here who would be liable to disciplinary action as a result of what has been on the message board of late, - now if somebody can tell me why we should be party to that please do say so. – I guess a lot of you may also not realise the spyware software on your work PC’s that do have auto alerts on them going to network managers every time you open a thread like these.

Please I ask that you Pietro and others appreciate that ther is more to this than mere censorship.

Complete and utter ********. Did you see the photos in question?

Exactly. Aimed at people interested in motorcycles. If I wanted a site aimed at knitting, I'd go to a site aimed at knitters. If I want to look at women wearing a piece of string then I'll go and look at an appropriate site.

And Rockhopper, censorship wouldn't be necessary if everyone displayed common good manners to their fellow board users. If just one other person reasonably finds something - whether images, language or whatever - unacceptable and/or inappropriate, then the MT have as much a responsibility to that person as they do to whoever initiated the post. And if you read the posts yesterday, plenty of people did find Dibbles posts inappropriate and people may find themselves under threat of disciplinary action at work simply by accessing this site and unintentionally opening the 'wrong' post.

It's a thankless task being involved in the MT - whose meeting lasted from 10 - 4.30 yesterday plus a couple of hours travelling either side for those living furthest away, that's long enough without wasting time having to sort out crap like this.

To name but two ads that spring to mind...

Herbal essences where the girl in the shower with the old couple downstairs, she's moaning at the delight of the shower gel.. ala orgasm, and naked covered in bubbles..

Next one.... another shower gel ad, woman naked and revealing more than any of dibbles photos with the plastic duck in the bottom of the bath checking her out...

I could think of more, but why???

Agree with ian on this but would like to point out that being a network manager for a large construction company i use surfcontrol and got a mail notification from my server exch time i browsed this website for exactly the reason ian has said. I keep full logs and reports on all users surfing and habits, and most companys are quite tollerant of this sort of thing and any network admin worth thier salt can spot a problem user compared with a problem forum / webpage and no fault of the user, but from a users point of view you could well be letting yourself into future problems because of someones avatar or embeded images on forum pages.
Lets just say i have seen people fired off and the odd surfcontrol block log was used as part of the reason (where as we all knew it was innoccent and not the users fault)
what i am trying to say, if a company wants rid of you then these can be used against you even if you had no idea you had been reported on by surfcontrol.

I also know its common practice to use surfcontrol and websense to not block content to just to fully log and track users and let them hang themselves with it.

Same for mail content applies, so what can you do ?? firstly if using IE you can turn off viewing of images, multimedia and sounds which solves that problem but why should you be forced to cut down the internet experience ? on the other hand porn is the largest medium and revenue earner to come from the internet.

One thing that is right though, and the ladies and visitors of the site shouldnt have to open topics with fear of what may appear, on the other hand it would take the webteam no time or hassle to strip all html tags allowed in posts and stop the use of externaly hosted avatars and thats the problem solved, but perhaps this would be seen as heavy handed tactics once again.

like you say "damned if you do - damned if you dont"
