996R or 998R, 996R..... World Championship winner. 998R came second. 996R is the daddy of the testa engine bikes, the 998R is the pretender, let alone these 999R's which are worth less than 996R's!

I'd have the 996R anyday over the 998R.

Considering no road version has won any world championships, just to "homologate" them in the broadest terms possible, and they're nothing like a road bike, but I think you'll find the 999 has already won 2 world titles - Hodgson 2003, Toseland 2004

Flanks I have to agree, but if you're in the market for a "new" bike you haven't got an option. Done the whole 996/998 thing so there wasn't an option
