Rome Trip

I`m off to Rome at the weekend, for a week, apart from the usual touristy things to look at, and go and see, any other suggestions?

Any one been to any Ducati dealers in Rome and if so what are the prices like?

Any other suggestions!

Cracking tea shop at the bottom of the spanish steps, great taste of home

Go to Tre Scalini which is on Piazza Navona, and order "divino tartufo", you can also tick off Bernini's fountain at the same time.

Go to the Pantheon, but at night, and just sit at a cafe and soak up the atmosphere.

Be very very aware of PICKPOCKETS on the Metro in the rush hour or around the famous sites, we were hit, all five of us by a gang. Pinned me so tight I could not move as they nicked the camera from my back pack, wife got hit at the same time as did my brother in law and sister . Very quick and nothing we could do about it which really ****ed me of at the time . 4D

Agree with Mr s about the pantheon square at night, cool as a very cool thing. The pantheon itself is fantastic to go inside.
Only shame is there is a a mac D's at the top of the square which kind of spoils the mood a little. Pretend its not there.

Mood: Pretty good considering....
We passed a Ducati store in Rome whilst in a taxi. Don't know if it's the only one, but it looked quite small but with a fair amount of clothing on display. Did intend to check it out later in the trip but never found it again; it was quite central though... actually, thinking about it, was it a Ducati store or was it a Dainese store with Ducatis on display, not sure now. Sorry!

You don't get any decent size store motorcycle shop in the center of Rome, You need to travel outside the city.... and as you are in vacation, it is a real pain in the... driving around Rome on the "raccordo anulare" which is costant blocked with traffic. To shop bikes in Italy the place is Bologna (you can also visit - as you all know - the Ducati factory there) and the shop is MINGARELLI - good deals and lots of performance parts..

As for the pickpockets it is true, be really aware, especially after drinks.. BUT.. They (most) are not ITALIANS, so you can recognize them..they are all from the East Europe - lots from ex-Yugoslavia and Albania....just look how they dress like and if their face is unshaved or so.. even a Brit will spot the difference!!!
