Not immediately, but as the twit gave his full info they then found out almost straight away - hence taking him for a ride up the road (big police station half a mile away)

In the light of day now, just really a non-event as he missed my car & didnt lump me.........

I might get some flack over this but for my friends that aren't hear to fight there corner, we are all bikers and most of use speed at some point on a ride, every ride so don't **** one for speeding, we should stick togiver,
it's to tempting to forget the close calls we have had, and in most cases if we were going slow it would not have happened, I have a friend that got knocked of his bike buy a fireblade and it broke his leg and smashed his bike up, he was all for finding the blade rider and give him a good kicking for the time he was not at work till I calmed him down and explained that what happened might have happened to him as he speeds on the same bit of road and he to wight lines at the same place that the crash was.
The speed of your bikes are so fast that 45 mph on an a or b road out side of town is not on, it's to slow and we all know it, so lets stop ripping into other bikers,
And as for the ban there for the grace of god go us all, or are you telling me you have not been into three figures,
when we have a crash we blame the other party at first any way,
ps good that your car was ok as well as the other bloke.
now a thief that's the scum we should keep our hate for and the law that makes us all criminals

Get real, there is a difference between excess speed and riding like a coooooooont!
I dont know the full facts of this but, putting the excess speed to one side, wheres the skill in going through the hazard of a junction, whether the road is for or against you, at any thing that is not appropriate to the conditions? That is just total lunacy and shows a complete disregard for the safety of any one else, let alone yourself!

If this rider was Disqual for whatever reason, then continuing to ride, and this will be without insurance as no one in the land will cover a banned driver/rider, again compounds his attitude to the rest of the community.

If it is the case he is pssd as well? Quite frankly, this person deserves no sympathy and should expect a custodial sentence!!

Guys

I think I can sort of see where bike mad is coming from.

Many of the bikers I see on the roads behave as if they have a God given right to cross double whites, ride at any speed that they think is o.k. often at 20-30+ over the speed limits ( be that limit 30,60 or 70 ) whiteline and treat other road users as mobile chicanes in a playstation game. The ones that don't ride like this really stand out.

Andy, what is the difference between riding at excess speed and riding like a c**t?

Are you saying that excess speed is acceptable? Surely travelling over the speed limit is showing the same disregard for other road users and putting them in danger?

I know riders who travel at 120mph + on A roads and then give abuse to people who '' pull out on them '' and I have ridden with Advanced riders who think that their badge gives them '' the ability '' to do all of the above.

Bike mads comments that we should hate the laws that makes us criminals are also in his opinion valid. The laws on Sunday trading were ignored by the big stores so the government changed the law so that they could trade. Mad or what?

Yes I do agree that this bloke was a dipstick for riding while disqualified / not insured and should have a spell inside, but basically the '' powers that be '' don't seem to be that bothered about this sort of low level crime when the paltry fines meted out are far less than the cost of insurance for these people.

Got to go - I'm off to go and nick some tins of salmon 'cos the shops are open today

It was this i was refering to concerning the mear excess speed bit!

Ill have you know this is taken seriously, probably more seriously, compared to how some crimes are dealt with in the Courts.

If for example this turned out to be Dangerous driving, or careless whilst under the influence of drink, and Disqual with a previous of disqual driving, i would estimate 2-4 months or more custodial.

Perhaps we should move on now to the free legal aid he will get......and the smarmy solicitor thatll clean up a big fee!

Not at all..

I don't agree with what bikemad was saying but these were merely my observations on his and your points, ...and I still stand by my comments on many bikers.....

As for my comments on uninsured drivers, my son is coming up to 17, wants to buy a car and has been quoted in excess of £1000 to insure one.

We will make sure that he doesn't drive without insurance, but I can't understand why the courts don't fine people more appropriately. I've never seen anyone reported in our local papers being fined anywhere near the above figure for failing to have insurance.
