What, if anything has your bike failed the MOT on? - Page 2

I have never in 15 years or so had a bike fail

(even with loud cans etc

)

Steering head bearings - hard to check properly without cranking it up onto the side-stand (which is the method most MOT testers seem to prefer

)

I thought mine were ok - but they were indeed notched right in the straight ahead position.

Shock mounts and swingarms could be worth a check as well.

Well apart from the race cans and small plate mine should go through But would any of us ride if they wernt upto and above Mot standard ?

The Mot is a good thing but Most peeps on bikes love em and slave all day to keep em looking like new, Unlike cage drivers

The steering head bearig s are new, and I had a good go at bleeding the back brake last week. Should be OK.

over the years I have had bikes fail on most things but the worst was brakes, when I left for the MOT they were fine but most have been on the way out as the guys walked back in and failed it for having brake fluid all over the front discs.

Mine failed because when i got the MOT over the phone he posted it to the wrong address

Checked my old (1952) Gilera Saturno out before it's MOT in September-rear light not working. Bloody bulb thinks I taking the lens off-not the bulb, the whole dam light unit, bulb holder the lot was missing-must have vibrated off. Put a modern LED type inside the old housing-looks standard still but that 'bulb' will never blow.

no number plate light on mine, was told by mot bloke that its ok. if it had a light, and it was faulty, then it would fail the mot
