Took the 748 to work today latterly on reserve. Went back to it in the evening and running very poorly. Needs fuel I thought but a fill up didn't sort the problem. Full throttle in first and no more than 20 mph and a very sick sounding set of termis. Sounds like it's not running on all cylinders - could this be crap in the fuel filter or worse:¬(
Any wise ones got thoughts before I start working my way through the Haynes manual?
DJb had a similar problem on the way to the ring last year ! my mate run low on fuel on his 996sps ! i droped the pump out and cleaned loadsa **** out of the anti swirl chamber, emptyied the fuel out of the fuel filter blew it out ( cause we day have one) and put it all back together on side of the road! ran perfect the rest of the holiday! go for it first...mav

Or could be a broken cam belt. When was the last time the belts were changed?
Belts generally have to be replaced every two years or 12,000 miles. Which ever comes first. They can deteriate if left standing for long periods of time.
How old is the bike and when was the last service?
if its from a shop just get them to sort it, otherwise its tank off. plugs out and clean make sure your belts are still there lol then replace the fuel filter. slap it back together and see what you got. think id just take it back
