1st: Saxon (!) at Bracknell Sports Centre (!!) 1980 when I was... hmmm... 14. It was sooo loud but I loved it.
Best: Too hard by far. One of the best is my favourite, now sadly de-funct, Norwegian outfit called Span. A couple of years ago they were touring the UK an I saw them 4 times including at a venue that used to be a public toilet (I kid you not) in Tonbridge. It's memorable because I ended up on stage singing & playing guitar with them. That made me smile for a couple of weeks, I can tell you.

saw the jam in london 1977, they had just released in the city... we used to have some good bands here at the regent in ipswich where i have seen...the stranglers (they stopped playing and refused to come back on stage cause the people at the front row were spitting at em) dire straights, big country, ozzy, meatloaf, thin lizzy, status quo & wait for it...the bay city rollers ! to name but a few.....
