Anybody technical out there???

Hi,

I need to take my forks out to take them to a chap to sort out for me but I have been stopped in my tracks by the fact that I have not got the correct tool to take the front wheel spindle off. It's a monster 1995.
Can anyone gve me a list urgently of what I need to buy and possibly where - I have a Halfords round the corner?
Tools I have:
3/8 Torque wrench
3/8 - 1/2 converter
Lots of sockets to fit
Help most appreciated

Franco

You need to undo the pinch bolts in the (non speedo drive) side. Correct size (6mm) allen key needed. The axle also needs a big key, my 888, which I think is similar, is 14mm. You have to pop the brake callipers off too. OK, that's the wheel out.

You'll need to loosen off the triple clamps, again, 6mm allen keys and the legs should drop out.

Take care setting the bike up on suitable stands to support it as it's pretty vulnerable while you've rippled the legs out.

Rgds, Rob

Many Thanks you Rob B. This means I need a 14mm Allen key. So I should buy an hexagonal allen set that will fit in my torque wrench....I assume?
