The thread you are looking for, is indeed now in DSC topics.

surely if the thread originator wanted it in "DSC Topics" he/she would have posted it there ??

especially as Avatars are not a member specific thing !!!

Confused of Sarf Landahn

Indeed mate, avatars are not just member specific. But, the thread which was started by Domski was about rules of this fourm and why a member of the WT acted as they did. This makes it a DSC topic.

M.

superb, that is truly excellent ... so we can play in your game but can't know the rules ...

so eye gouging, shin kicking and hair pulling all allowed ...

it'll be just like the average MT meeting ... class ...

it'll be like a Mad Max movie here soon .....

I find it a very sad sign that this and the other related threads have had many more replies than Lizzie's simple request to helping biking charities - has had page views.

That may be so Frank but, this is not what the thread is about, is it? So why divert from it?

I apologise for the digression.

However, it appears to me the answer to your dilemma is in your own post here.

Just to answer Dibbs point as well - there has been a members section long before the 'DSC topics' area was available. Its just that it was pointing towards a secure area for members details, bike registration and then for ratings of dealers which I believe it was decided needed to be kept seperate.

Mark has already stated the reasons the thread in question has been moved into 'DSC topics' - can I suggest, if users of the board are so concern about policy - then Paul still has quite a few unfilled positions on the MT.

As for 'not knowing the rules of the game' - I'm sorry but the only ones I'm currently interested in are trying to HELP on the website, a novelty I know but, something that I hope I've always tried to do.

Finally a lovely quote from a member on a related topic:

Its only a message board but it is my main contact with the club so my perception of the club is based on what i see here ,Some people thrive on strife and dissent ,I personally dont. Like most people I get enough crap in real life without actively seeking it out on the boards .

That said I will probably stay a member , Just not use the message board so much .

Well written and Very poignant, I think.

If anyone wishes to contact me privately via U2U or Email please feel to do so.

I don't have a problem with the MT nor have I ever had a problem. It's a moot point anyway cos I'm not a paid up member and therefore don't feel I have a right to complain. I just wanted to know why and where the thread had gone given that I had contributed to it and saw it as healthy debate. If the MT see fit to move it elsewhere then fair enough....as I said I'm not paid up.

FWIW I know what it's like to be on the committee of a bike club. I was for many years either the secretary, membership sec' or magazine editor of a large one-make international club. In the end the back-biting and pettyness of it all caused me to leave. It's the reason why I will never be a paid-up member of any bike club again and why, by and large, I avoid them with a barge pole.

Frank,

I think you are taking this all too seriously, did you miss all the tongue in cheek nature of this thread ?

In fact my first reply was a piece of sound advice and a pointing in the right direction ....

Lets not start all that "what do you do for the club" bollox as I personally have no need to justify my contribution to this club, member or not.

Also the Members Section was not until very recently home to a members only board which if i could really be bothered is something that is very well documented as something that the club had stood firm against for an awful long time.

Pietro
