WANTED: Hire of 583 for Castle Combe

Assuming the race committee will let me ride in 583 - for NO POINTS or POTS if neccessary (I don't want to ruin anyone's season), does anyone have a race ready 583 that I could use on a I bend it, I mend it deal?

Maybe you can't make Castle Combe, or maybe you just happen to have a 583 racer lying about????

Please let me know, and I'll speak to the RC and see if I can get another bike on the grid - so we get 2 grids.

Thanks

you are not eligible dom.! and perhaps the better idea is that the person with the 583 race it themselves or lend it to a Member who is perhaps thinking about racing and may like a taster session.?

I can't see the problem if he races for no point... He may allow us to have our separate grid... For me you're more than welcome to be our guest Dom

Sorry to hi-jack this thread but you have given me an idea.
In order to generate interest in the series and attract more riders ensuring minimum grids what do you think of the idea of having a 583 as a rent a bike where people who want to try racing can have a go without the initial outlay of buying their own bike. The chances are that if someone tries it for one or two races that they will get hooked on it and want to join up.
This is not an original idea as the MZ club run this sort of set up. They usually charge for rental of the bike and for any damage to it if crashed.
Obviously someone would need to get the bike to and from the circuits and maintain it too.

This would clearly need more thought but anu initial thoughts on this - I know it won't solve the CC issue.

Cheers

Franco

well all you lot that wanna race in 583 for no points, dont get in my way !!!..as a 583 rider the championship has great relevance to me and i dont wanna be bumping into, trying to pass, get passed by you 583 riders out for a bit of no point practise with no real 583 championship aspirations.

i think we would need to have a few more entering each class at CC to get seperate grids, our normal 25 is probably around 75% of the grid slots this translates into about 34 per race at Castle Combe and I can't see that happening.

Franco I mentioned bike hire in a earlier post under a different thread and was wondering what sort of price to put on the hire of a bike.
