North Wales Police

Just to let you know that within the last week or so two motorcyclists have died as a result of crashes in North Wales and I was told today that the North Wales Police are now targeting motorcyclists for crossing double white lines, speeding, dangerous riding and other traffic offences.

Apparently the force helicopter and two unmarked bikes are also going to be on the prowl. Bearing in mind that up here you will get a ticket for 1mph over the limit I would advise either become an angel for the forseeable, or grow eyes in the back of your head.

Common hotspots are Bala and Betws - y - Coed and the Sealand / Queensferry road.

Be safe

Phil

hmmm.....i would say that certainly for the majority of those offences if people are prepared to commit them then.........they should be prosecuted. It shouldnt take the untimely death of a motorcyclist to do that.

A simple rule on the road is, the more paint there is on the road surface, in terms of white lines etc, the bigger the hazard/danger!

This should be part of your plan!

Maybe while the two unmarked bikes are out, they should also target car drivers, while i do not have a problem with them targeting bikers for riding without any brains, car drivers have alot more distractions, mobile phones, noisy kids, nagging wife etc, and while they are not always at fault targeting bike riders only goes so far in reducing accedents, car drivers need educating as well.

I agree.... i cant think of the last time the fuzz anounced a crack down on car drivers who drive like lunatics, all the authorities do is whack up a few more speed cameras which make money, as opposed to policing the roads which costs money and then say they are tackling the problems.....granted, speed does kill and stopping distance is nearly always a factor in accidents, but the authorities are brainwashing the public into thinking that speed is the ONLY killer, which then justifies their policy on cameras, the underlying fact is that the goverment couldnt give a toss about how many road users are killed or injured as long as the majority get to work each day to earn taxable wages in their road taxed vehicles running on heavily taxed fuel.....
