Help needed with spraying

Just a simple question I am a bit unsure about when I apply the clear Lacquer.

Do I spray the red paint then let it dry and then wet n dry it the apply the clear lacquer or do I let the paint go touch dry then go over with the clear lacquer ?????????????

Not to worried about finnish as these are on my track day pannels.

paint dry!
Then nib with 1000 w/d
then light very light coats of lac or it will run like a scouser with a new giro

Age . let the first lac coat go sticky then apply thin/light coats and build the finish up !

It's been along time since I picked up a spray gun !

I will spray the red tommorrow night then the lac on Thursday.

remember the better the pre lac finish, the better the final finish

If you should end up with any ugly spots in the final finish you can lightly "nib" it out with 1200 grit or finer wet and dry. Use a light touch and keep checking to make sure you have not cut through the Laq'. When happy use T-cut and good polish to put the shine back in.

Used this technique quite a few times to take light scratches out of paintwork were the scratch has not gone through the Laq'. Even works on stuff like indicator lens etc.

For all base and laquer proffesionally [as on my DD bike] base coat,flash off for 5/10mins then straight on with laquer.Good idea as Mav says to give the laquer a grip coat first.
If you base coat is particulary poor in finish and covered in flatting lines then follow Mavs way.
