Well what a hot, hot day, in fact week end its been, clad in leather up and around Silverstone for the gp.
I wouldnt say it was busy but there were enough people there to contribute to the heat and a few problems.
In some respects i had a good job there riding around on the pan, but it was obviously very hot!
Well, after the race, as the numbers began their mass evacuation, i was sent down to an incident on one of the major routes out. This was obviously a grade one, ie blues n twos..... upon my arrival, i parked the pan in a fend position, and as is customary, left it running with the rear blues and reds on.
All of a sudden the bike went BANG! and antifreeze/water/steam went every where. So there i am, stuck now with a broken bike, the Silverstone Diversion in full flow, and i guess looking at a considerable wait for recovery.
My only saving grace is that im opposite a Pub!
The job dealt with, i limp the pan over into the car park and prepare myself for the long wait, when the land lord comes out. Ive seen whats happened, he says, do you want a drink?
Well, i peel my kit off and sit down with him with a pint of coke! What a decent chap i think!
Any way we get talking. My recovery is going to take a while. What a nice bloke, we're having the crack about a lot of things, then some of his guests return to the accomodation.
Oh thats jensons mum and sister he says! Murray will be back shortly!!
Only bloody Murray Walker turns up, and sits down! what a genuine nice bloke, we chew over the fat.
I happen to tell my other colleagues hes here, so they set me the challenge of getting him to say "go, go, go!" Over the radio set..........I think he was amused too!
What a good afternoon................
