Windows Explorer in XP Error message still.

Hope someone can help me with this error I get every time I try to move, delete, copy, rename, whatever a sub directory in Windows Explorer.

Appears straight away upon doing the above mentioned actions and is driving me mad. let alone stopping my workflow.

Also appears when I try to empty my waste basket (which contains sub directories deleted from my drive thru 3rd party image software).

Searched Microsoft Support but that's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard....I've only found that it 'MAY' be a registry related fault...

If any other info is needed then please ask but that's about it really.

Thanks again, Guy

I have SP2 installed so am at a bit of a loss as to what this can be. I have read of IE6 issues with SP2 but my problems are with Windows Explorer not Internet Explorer.

Not sure I can help, Guy, but is it a particular sub-folder in Windows that you cannot copy or is it every sub-folder? Can you restore files from the waste basket?
If you use Command Prompt, can you re-name the affected sub-folders using DOS commands?

I know I've seen this error message myself, usually when closing down XP, but it never stopped me doing anything and hasn't appeared in a long while now.

Sorry, groping here ...

There is an application available from microsoft that checks your RAM availability and the condition of the RAM. I don't have the link here but I'll try and post it tonight.

You could try searching on this site (doesn't always appear on google searches):

Thanks Alan & Ozz,

Will give that diagnostic thingy a try first.............

The problem is will all directories Ozz. Not tried a restore from my Waste Basket.....The fault will not let me empty my waste basket of any sub-directories in there either.
