had similar problem with tyre not cleraing hugger but that was defo hub positioning....it was at 7 oclock not 4 oclock...just chnaged from 180 to 190 so I'll have a look later, might explain why I'm so slow of the tyres rubbing

Are you running a full 998S exhaust, or 998S downpipes with a different link pipe and cans

What tyres are you running???? if it is a Dunlop then you will find that it grows when hot and used at speed due to the profile of the tyre & it will rub the exhaust even a 45mm system, try a differant tyre & see how you get on.

you mentioned that it had a swing arm from a 748r, what bike have you fitted this to in your original post ?

the doner bike was a 748r i took the engine out and fitted a 998s engine.
i used the 520 chainodf the 748r. now running 14-37 sprokets so as it clears.

Question
I remember reading somewhere about differing lengths of swing arms on some of the ducatis. Not much in it, only mm, prob enough to make a difference. I also recall that the exhausts were different too on the 748r...ill see if i can dig out the info from my library at home.
