Seems odd you only the message on one forum?

Can you please tell me if its one post in particular you are trying to view?

Hurrah!
I can now post replies and do everything else I used to be able to do before 2 weeks ago.
Thanks for the advice by e-mail Eamonn. Seems as though ticking the 'remember me' box before logging in has done the trick! Cheers,
Ian

The problem that Ian had (and possibly others) is that AOL users have their connection to the internet changed automatically by AOL on a regular basis. This is done by AOL to reduce the possibility of hackers getting into the users system by the IP address - i.e. keep changing the address and it makes it more difficult to get in. The technique AOL use is called 'floating IP'.

A consequence of this is that the message board 'looses' your connection on a regular basis - by ticking the 'remember me' box you tell the message board to retain a cookie on your machine that signifies to the message board your connection status. Then if AOL change your connection behind the scenes, it doesn't matter.
