Mood: Bike or Yacht..... tough choice on sunny day ;-)
Thumbs down 999 numberplate tidy, motrax rubbish !

Well the std one is sooo ugly !

So i bought and fitted a motrax one, the 999 bespoke one supplied by P&H, and it all looked great.

After a ride down to southampton i was shocked to find the bracked had sheared off ! no number plate left at all !!

Looked on ebay and found a much stronger looking one, so have now fitted that, with a new number plate.......

If anyone is interested can supply details of the new one, i wouldnt buy the motrax one if i were you :-(

Yup. Tried the Arse end tail tidy, thought it looked weak and, sure enough, lost a plate.

I've recently got a carbon fibre plate holder that looks fab and, so far, has proved strong. It's in the official parts book if you're interested.

If anybody's interested, Casoli do a good one for reasonable money.

The Casoli item is exactly the same as the Motrax one!
It was origionally designed and made by Evolutzione in the 'States. The bracket is for the American sized plates not the standard 9x7 British plates. The bracket moves the plate nearer the rear wheel,so when you hit a bump,.......ping!One lost plate.
'Course the chances of it happening are reduced if you fit a (ahem!) "show plate".
Personally I prefer the DP carbon replacement.

The Motrax one is nothing like the Evoluzione item I have on my 800ss roadbike. The Evo item is a decent piece of kit.

Got a pic of it?
I think the SS one is differant than the 749/999 version.
I had the Evoluzione bracket on my 999bip,...trust me,its the same as the Casoli and Motrax.

I checked the Motrax site - that is nothing like the SS item. Mind you, that ain't to to say the Evo 999 item is any good. I'm happy with the Evo item on my ss and there's no problems with the wheel touching the plate on our exceptionally bumpy northern moor roads.
