With my regional coordinator hat on I can safely say that this happened a lot in the first year of DD and a number of the regional organisers still organise DD rideouts regularly.

This is just the sort of thing I was referring to in my earlier post/email (extract below) there are all manner of trimmings that can be added to the series if people will volunteer to get involved.

As I see it the RC should run the core business and admin side and bring the volunteers together but there is just too much work involved for one or two people to cover it all in their spare time. So maybe there are 2 alternative ways of looking at it: cover the basics to enable the series to run and concentrate on getting that right or look to adding all the extras to that with help from outside the RC.

"Of vital importance is to line up all the people who can add value to the series in any way shape or form and get them in a room together to discuss what they can bring to the party early on in the proceedings".

Never seen any involvement from them in the series either except for the much appreciated oil pack.

Same. Yes, I did join halfway through the season and yes the oil pack was really appreciated. However, the rules do say I need to run sponsors stickers. I've asked/requested them but haven't received any. Free oil = happy to run Shell stickers. If I could just be given some.....

Some people might not want to gather with everyone, to allow them a chance to gather their thoughts before the racing. It is expensive after all and some want to do well and focus on that. That's fair enough.

There's been a DSC flag flying at all the rounds I've been at this year, MW, Lizzie and Butch890 seem to always have the flag up so everyone can easily see that and identify club members.

Something we will have sorted well in advance (no pun intended) for next season. It's on the "to do" list, will just need to check with all the riders whether they want the big DSC sticker in white or black before getting a load cut. Wonder if they would be of interest to other members who have track bikes ? Maybe a mention that we are getting some made in Pronto ? Just a thought.
