Is that not the case then ?

Not the only reason, it also allows as I understand some kind of continuity in the day to day running of the club. Also new members to the MT might need time to get to speed, myself being the new boy in the inner rect... ahem have looked from the longer standing MT members for help, and advise on the dealings of the club. Something which has allowed me in a short period be effective in my role.

It also ensures, that when one of the MT are not fulfilling their duties, as promised to the membership, there are people already in place who know the dynamics of the club, and some history and experience to ensure those duties are picked up.

So did I draw the correct conclusion then ?

No-one can get voted off the MT by an EGM means or any other ? Unless by the MT by majority vote itself ?

From my point of view, no your conculsion I do not agree with. Do you want to join the MT? If so, what role would take your fancy, which is up for election? Paul S and myself applied to the advert in Aprils Pronto, I know TP did as well. Myself and Paul were co-opted onto the MT. I understand, only 3 members applied out of the membershiop.

Last point, is for the club sec or chair to answer.

I'm asking a question - as a member !

The conclusion I came to was that the membership cannot out vote the MT - thats what I said in page one. I asked for clrification nothing more.

I don't see where that leads to - do I want to be a member of the MT or what role would I play

We drank beer, talked rubbsih and had an amazing time in the wet on track.

Meeting guys like Alan at AJ Racing, meeting Skidlids who inspired me to race again after breaking so many bones, meeting 4d, glyn, Jools and Keefy.

The techincal knowledge throughout all my breakdowns and part swapping..

I post on here because of all that... and because i miss it all... i miss them guys and miss what we all had back in them days. I mpost because i live in hope that one day it will come back...one day we'll all be back there and it will be a cracking place to be.

I hope to rediscover some of this in DD next year spannering, and on a trip with Mav either to WDW or the Ring and the whole weekend of fun.

I don't know you, Weeksy, but the good stuff is still here. Don't lose sight of that (that goes for any of us).

i know they are boring documents but its always worth reading the current club rules

rule 3 doesn't require any nomination or election of officials only re-election after 3 years , it doesn't actually state how the original MT are in place nor does it give powers to co-opt and ratify despite this happening over the last few years. the one thing that is clear that unless an MT member is re-elected after their 3 years they aren't actually an MT member as they fail to comply with this rule which requires that re-election although not their original position. a rather stupidly worded rule but thats how it is written.

rule 9 does allow one to propose a rule change or nomination for MT but doesn't give a procedure or requirement on MT to do anything about it....

rule 11 screws up any chance of change because of its postal vote clause, go back to what happened prior to last AGM and you'll see the problems it caused then and the problems it is still causing because it wasn't addressed at that time.

no rule exists which gives membership power to call an EGM even if a majority of the club requested that all MT stand down and apply for re-election

As such Phoenix is quite correct on the original point, membership can't request MT all stand down and apply for re-election it can only happen if current MT can volunteer to do so.

most of these clauses were covered in much greater detail and with procedures outlined in the new constitution which needs adopting very quickly if its to apply in 2007.

after that it takes people to step up to the plate and make things happen, i'd love to think there would abe a glut of willing people to do so but i doubt it

Is'nt this thread going away from the original author's question. Why do we use this message board

I use it to keep in touch with DSC activities like Events and Ride outs, I also like to give advise or have advise given when asked by my learned friend on here. I like to be polite and treat people like i would like to be treated myself. Make constructive criticisum and have a bit of friendly banter with like minded folk, what ever bike they ride. Life is for living not fighting 4D

true mate... true indeed... I saw some of it in a fleeting ride with the BHC lads from Cadwell to some Ducati shop in Lincoln. They seemed a bit miffed at having a Jap bike out with them at first, but seemed to mellow after working out who i was.... Everyone was all smiles and laughs when we reached our destination... it was really nice.

Sometimes you see all the **** and forget that mostly it's a bunch of lads having fun.... a bunch of lads with a passion for biking....

I've met some good mates through this site... i've met 1 real friend directly through this site ... Friends come along very rarely in life... any medium that brings true friendship can't be a bad thing.
