Question spanish trip

I'm organising a trip to the Pyrenees next May. There are 6 of us travelling from Plymouth to Santader and we will have 3 nights in the Pyrenees and then come back. Can anybody advise me of a nice location that is up in the mountains. We would ideally like to use this as our base for the 3 nights so we don't have to cart our gear around.
Also are there some mountain routes that anybody can advise us to use, as we will be dreaming about them all winter.

There are nice places to stay in Ax les Thermes on the French side of the Pyrenees. I can recommend the Hotel du Roy René. Good location to launch a crossing from.
Didn't see anywhere as nice on the Spanish side, but I didn't look that hard, to be honest.

You're going to have some fun, that's for sure

Ossy. Done that a few years ago and had a great time. Crossing the Bay of Biscay can be a bit rough at times but the two night trip can be passed nicely enough on the ferry. Foods a bit dear though. What we did was to purchase one of the many books that show accomadation in the many old monastry's located all around the base of the Pyrenees sold on the boat. You can ring ahead and book as you feel fit. Some fantastic roads especially when you get down passed Pamplona and on to Jaca. The Pyrennees are crossed with roads going North /South and a 3 day trip will have you putting lots of miles in to see some of the best bits. Dont be too greedy and plan some think to head for, after 10 hours in the saddle and the light fading you don't want to be in the middle of no where with the fuel light flickering . I would love to do it again as its the best bike riding you will find especially with a few mates . The only problem we had was when we parked the bikes in a "secure " underground car park just before we left to get the return ferry ,some moron pushed the three bikes over damaging all of them, we had no come back because of time getting home. But we were welcomed by one and all. In the mountains as you come up higher some of the farms are moving cattle about so all ways expect some cow shi1 or even worse the real thing in the middle of the road. Have fun 4D

I can also reccomend Ax le thermes, stunning place and a nice hot sulphur pool to sooth your feet in at the end of a days riding too
