Wonder how it would have been perceived had it been the other way round?

To my mind, Hill drove into a gap that wasn't there, he was never alongside Schumi - I've just watched it again last night. At the time, I don't recall a single driver suggesting it was Schumi's fault... not even Mr Squeeky Clean Prost...

The bottom line is, Damon Hill was a nice guy, but just not on the same level, and he was cr@p at overtaking - which is why the following year he managed to punt Schumi off at Silverstone and Monza when trying to pass him...

I think it was Murray who called it a cynical piece of driving and he loved them both.

Yes Michael was a better natural driver, Damon made mistakes like most of us would, but still won his Championship.

And if Damon had done it to Michael? I'd have larfed...cos at the end of the day he's a German
