Jools, a lot of the restriction is due to the leathers but it's mainly down to the way that your leg bends when you kick compared to when you get off the bike - if you can side-kick to head height then you shouldn't have any problems!

Try lifting your knee up in front of you first and bend your leg. Put your weight on the left handlebar, lean forward and then pivot your right leg over the bike around your hips. It will either work beautifully or your mates will be picking you up off the floor!

I dunno what the fuss is all about.
But I think we need videos of all these techniques !
1) If you see yourself doing something in a vid its usually not quite how you think you're doing it, and if you have done, or especially taught, kata you should appreiciate this.
2) We really could do with some new interactive entertainment

btw I'm 6ft1

Seem to recall Henners trying this method at the 3-Cross open day earlier this year when he came down on his blade with Stu on his GSXR. Henry tried this method of remounting and got confused when his key wouldn't fit, we hadn't the heart to tell him it was somebody else's CBR600RR and not his Fireblade

.... carry with you one of those collapsible stools that painters and decorators use to reach those difficult corners.

May not look cool but it will solve your problem
