Phil, Kev and Jimbo have all been, so thay can show us round. By the time we have all completed a few laps on Friday it will not matter who has or hasn't been.... but then, I think that is the case with most tracks. The only advantage if you have been before is that you may be faster in the first 2 sessions.


and watching lots and lots and lots of youtube laps helps so at least I know where it goes left;right;straight on

I agree and I think I did most of my overtaking in race one in Gerrards when coming from the back, the trick with Gerrards is to enter at a good pace and exit on full throttle, for most of us mere mortals. I heard talk of a certain class A person entering on full throttle but dont think thats for me yet.

I think if you dont know how to really ride a fast corner like that, hanging right off the bike, bike cranked over but not too much and the gas coming on progressively then you can end up in the kitty litter. A few years ago I went in too fast and when I started to miss the apex I dialed in more lean and went off the tyre. I didnt need to dial in more lean I actually just needed to get more of my weight to the inside and keep the bike more upright. I 100% believe these corners are about technique, I would suggest to build up or you will come off and your confidence will go with it.

Also I think that the weather we have had in the last couple of rounds combined with these tyres has made for VERY sticky rides.

Think it might be a little like traction control on cars making people faster than they would be otherwise, or in our case keeping us upright. I think that if it is cooler in Anglesey or the track is a bit cold/damp and people dont get the technique right then some of us might find these fast corners a bit more interesting

I can't do the YouTube thing. It doesn't help me at all. I hav tried, but I can never remember anything from them. It usually only takes me about 3 laps to work out where I'm goin anyway.

I know what you mean about the grip though. Confidence is building and building right now because they are so much better than the old tyres. Soon we will all be on the limit of these ones and it could get messy. The odd thing for me is I haven't even found near the limit with these yet... They seem to do everything you ask of them and I haven't even had a half slide yet. That was one of the things I was pondering over whilst I was forced to sit out the Mallory races.

On the last or 2nd to last lap on race 2 mid way round Gerrards, pretty much full throttle my rear had a bit of a slide and I thought to myself.... ok then these tyres do have a limit!

I could be very wrong but looking at the state of the inside edge of my rear tyre I think that the suspension isnt setup quite right. After the two races at brands, where I wasnt exactly taking it easy and Mallory race 1, by the last few laps of race 2 they were losing grip. Might be and idea to keep an eye on your tyres gentlemen!

I found the limit to the tyres at Cadwell today going through the gooseneck the front went with no warning

I had a couple of small slides and a couple of quite large ones; all controlled, no fears, just drifted a little and kept going forward. Especially out of the hairpin

when I got my knee down race two I could enter with even throttle, no roll off but not wide open, and as soon as on its side open wide again

I loved that corner before, love it even more now
