The Rugby

So, being in Venice over the weekend means I didn't get to see any of the rugby but I had a lovely weekend anyway. In fact, I saw most of the MotoGP in a couple of Italian ristorante's ...

I'm surprised to see the results. I though the AB's would win because Eng have looked pretty scratchy during the 6N but 36-3? Just been reading some reviews of the game and it sounds like AB's got their pack sorted out - comments anyone who saw it? The AB backs are hard to contain at the best of times and if they're on song only the best defence will keep your scorelines close.

Pleased to see the men in Gold knock over the Scots but I actually thought, based on Scotland's tour performances so far and injury situation, that we would win by more than 20. I'm watching the game tonight (taped it) but from the reviews it sounds like the Wallabies were a bit scratchy as well - new combinations not gelling yet? Comments? (Not trying to take anything away from teh Scots - haven't seen the game yet ...)

I was really looking forward to seeing how Samo went at blindside - heard he pulled of a bone cruncher in the first half. And Rathbone at 13 ...

Rugby fans??

20 views and not a single reply??

Is there no-one in the club with an interest in Rugby with something to say on the weekends games?

I won't ask any of you to fill in at touch rugby then ... apart from Phillc of course ... watching the Aus v Scotland game now ...

I play, watch and have a keen interest in Rugby. Scotland are my team, so i usually don't have much to say. Although i would agree that i thought we would loose by more...

Well, I'm still watching it ... Aus lineout is crapola, and our kicking!!! Some very cynical infringing when Scotland are in there 22 - been watching Dallaglio too much obviously (ooh, controversy!!). Oh dear ... coming in from the side ... hands in the ruck - just dropping off at the end allowing Aus to blow out the scoreline when it was a bit closer than even the 20 point difference suggests.

Next game will be interesting, a better quality game hopefully with both side better for the hitout and seeing each other play.

Some good tackles on Sailor - he could have had three tries! He's hard to stop near the line.

Well, I'm a 95kg centre (although around 90 at proper playing weight ... sans spare tyre ..) helps me hit harder ... though not at touch obviously

So, can I count on you to fill in then Phil?

It's easy ... the other team has the ball and you can legally try your absolute hardest to smash them! Or, you have the ball and you pick out someone you want to try your hardest to run over the top of and make them worry about tackling you next time ...

All good fun ...

Well!!! Just saw Grimes tap dancing on Lyons back - no wonder he was suspended for two games!

HA HA HA HA!, the post match interview with Sailor "How was that try, you been practising in the slips on the weekend for that one?" Great comment on sailor's catching of the kick and turning it around for the try ...!!

Did England actually turn up for our match? Still we only lost the second half 6-0!!!!! See that Woodward had ringed the changes for the next match and got rid of some of the old dead wood - perhaps now we might be able to throw into the lineout.
