Police targetting bikers in Scotland

I heard yesterday on the radio that argyllshire police are specifically targetting bikes including a helicopter patrol on its roads, also today, seperately being targetted is the area around the A84/85 which I think is central or highland region, particularly at the weekend though they didnt rule out other times.
It would seem that the frenzy over 'mad speeding bikers' has reached Scotland. This'll be a subject of discussion tomorrow on radio Scotland at 10 am on one of those light entertainment programs guaranteed to attract the self righteous prosleytising I've heard on other national programs.
The guys who are out this weekend from our region may need to keep a sharp eye out for police patrols 'being seen to be dealing with the issue'.
Anyone else heading this way for a short break may do well to avoid the holiday routes at the weekend at least.
In the meantime I'm off to lie low at cadwell for a bit.

Yes things are getting slightly more high profile at the moment.

Take special care in and around the central belt. Especially between Stirling and Calendar, a mobile van is out every weekend nearly especially just before and after Blair Drummond Safari park on the straight.

Most of the guys i know are now taking to the borders over the weekend rather than ride locally it is getting that bad.

I went to see Scottch a few weekends ago and past 3 mobile traps between Stirling-Dunfermline and Kircaldy.........

One road which was clear was the Glenrothes - Milnathort - Tullibody - Alloa road as recommended by Scottch......so good infact i turned round and had another blast up it.

I believe around Crail gets a lot of attention if the quarter mile days are on every second Sunday.

Regards

Having read this thread on Friday, how I laughed when I got done yesterday on the A7 just outside Pathhead - 78 in a 60 zone.

To be fair, the boys in blue were very nice about it. Didn't try to lecture me and weren't bothered about my loud cans etc. Explained that due to fatalities they've been ordered to crack down. They also pointed out that if I'd been 10 mph slower they wouldn't have bothered.

Fortunately they weren't on the Duns to Galashiels road about an hour earlier.
