Have often seen ducatis having the owners town or even dealerships name printed within the side fairing area, for example have seen a lot off italy based ducatis with the owners province printed in this way, is this a new thing within the uk ?? is it the supplying dealer who normally adds these extra worded decals ?? or is it possibly something that is just part off the ducati owners individuality ??

would be interested to hear what or how this trend got started ??

My new 749 Dark came with "Ducati Glasgow" on the side fairings.

Some of my mates have commented on how it is free advertising for them and i should remove them. To be honest it does not bother me and i am quite happy to leave them on as the guys at Duke Glasgow have been excellent, and if it means a bit of free advertising for them fine by me.

The actual decal is of a good quality and matches the original one for colour so actually looks ok.

To be honest, I would only keep those sort of stickers if they where giving me something over and above in the line of service or parts discounts, but as long as you're happy.

First thing i would do would be to get rid of all the dealers stickers. If they want to pay me for the space then fair enough. This doesnt apply to Cornerspeed stickers of course!

Rcokhopper - couldn't agree more. I would ONLY put stickers on if I was being paid or sponsored to. If it has Ducati London on it, just looks like a demo bike to me!

I wrote to Nike to ask them to pay me for wearing their trainers, but they said no so I unpicked the swoosh!

Your comments are interesting, Rockhopper. You initally say you would rip such stickers off immediately, followed by "unless they were Cornerspeed of course".

So as the earlier post implies, leave them on if the dealer is giving you good service. They scratch your back, then you scratch them.

Personally I have a small Italia Moto sticker on the front fairing and a couple of larger Cornerspeed logo's on the seat unit. Both these outfits have given me good service, so it's a tiny price to pay to give them some free advertising, after all it costs us zilch to do so, and maybe if helping to support them in this way, they will still be around when we need them.

I'm all for giving free advertising - when it's deserved.

I aree with yeti,although my bikes are heavily stickered up (a Foggy rep & a Bayliss rep),the only non-standard stickers are the little JHP ones on the nose fairing.

I even changed the number plate on my ST4 becasue the dealers had put their logo on the bottom of it.

Nelly is effectivly paying me to have his stickers on my bike because of all the unpaid help he has given me over the past few years.

Paid or unpaid, some dealers do go beyond what could reasonably be expected, and as such deserve the little bit of free advertising we can give them.

in my mind even getting a good deal on the bike purchase would warrant leaving the name on the number plate. Rockhopper, are you that unhappy with the service you got when buying the bike that you felt strongly enough to take the name of the number plate? Little excessive don't you think? After all a new number plate has now cost YOU.
