If you didn't necessarily want a racer or ex-racer then how about Oliver Tobias who owns a MH1000 bought from the man himself and is featured in this months Classic Bike mag.
Maybe what we should be doing is defining the role of a President, surely that will then help to indicate what are the most important attributes (UK based, still riding Dukes, honorary figurehead who we never see etc) before a more informed vote at the AGM.
If the role is already defined or someone else has suggested this then I missed it cos this is a long thread and I got fed up reading it all
Susie Perry got rid of her monster, as she now has a Honda....
Perhaps one of the MT will let peeps know what is in the present constitution for the DSC regarding the role of president - term of office & duties expected etc, as is rather pointless discussing changes that quite possibly may not able to be implemented

Ummmm.... obviously I'm new to this game, not being a member of any other club, but I was thinking of those little practical things, like wouldn't it help if the president was still alive ......

I'd let him ride mine - IF it was delivered before Spring '06!!!!
Judging by the grin on your face on the home page, Lizzie, I felt sure you'd be voting for James, as I did. No logic behind that choice other than (a) rides a bike like a god and (b) plays piano similarly. Two things I aspire to and (at this stage in life) ain't likely to achieve.
Tempting Ruth, tempting. What you can't see from that picture is how red I went ; the view I got looking down was slightly different to how it looked face on. He is a sweetie (yes, I have been knocking back the Chardonnay, unusually for me :P). But it'll be a while before he achieves what Foggy has achieved....
