So all in all, semi synth 15/50 seems to be the way to go! Then i shall go and buy some.

Autolube 15/40 semi in the badger, supposed to be re-badged Shell and it's better than that Anne Summers stuff but don't taste as nice.

Take no notice of the work shop manual, for racing an air cooled motor you need a 50 grade as they get much hotter than a road bike Roc 15/50 semi is the way to go.

Having perused the Opie oils website, i've decided on 15/50 Mobil racing 4T. It's fully synthetic though.

I'm going to put the same stuff into my Triumph Sprint because virtually everything else makes the gear change clunky when it heats up. Wish me luck!

Then when & if you get clutch slip you can go to what the pros recomend.
