Old style indicators

Feel kind of stupid asking this, but how do you disconnect the rear indicators on an old-style ('93) 900ss? The wires seem to meet in a plastic tab junction, but I can't see how you separate them without cutting the wires.

TIA

On mine they all converge into a sleeve along with the brake light,if you follow that forward just in front of the tool tray should be the connectors, behind those breather tank things under the seat.

Sorry Dave, I wasn't very clear in my original post, it's those connectors I mean. I'm used to the bayonet style ones you just pull apart.

I.

I far as I can tell you'll need to pull the plastic shroud covering the five or six wires clear of the plug, then what I've just done is lever the rubber insert out as far as you can get it with a small screwdriver and as far as I can tell(cos I didn't actually try it) the wires will push out through the plug where part of the terminal seem to secure it which presumably will separate letting you then pull the wire back through the plug itself, theres a blank one and if you look at that carefully you'll notice there is a narrowing of the gap which would make it impossible to push out back through the plug. You may be able to pull from the terminal using tweezers or very fine pliers.
Having just looked at all of this wouldnt it be easier to disconnect at the indicator end and use the original wires?

Thanks Dave, that gives me something to work with. Was going to do the indicator thing but didn't have a small enough Philips screwdriver to fit the indicator-glass aperture; started to get a bit grumpy by that time...
