The nut used by Nelly (as on mine and TP's) is the nut from the alternator shaft. This info was passed onto Nick who's selling the clutches and I believe he's now supplying that nut with the clutch, but I may be wrong.

It's an M20x1 thread, and about 8mm thick IIRC correctly.

The top hat spacer I got with the slipper was shallower than the original, but needed shimming out slightly (1mm or so) so everything cleared the clutch basket.

As Skid's and Jon have suggested, check the spacer first. If it's the right one, I'd be inclined to turn down the spacer before the nut. Just make sure there's enough clearance behind the basket when the spacer's turned down.
