996R as some more carbon and was hand built in limited edition. If you can find one at a reasonable price and are looking at getting a collector, this is the one to go for.

998s - same specs, less fancy parts, not many about either. Will probably never achieve the exclusive status of the 996R but almost similar to the R to the exception of some carbon and the Ohlins at the front. You would probably get a better bargain on such bike. The one to consider if you are not after exclusivity but just something that does the job and does it very well.
