I am trying this . . . for £40 I have ordered a Venhill quick action throtte + cables + a few bits and bobs to fit it. Will have a good go at fitting it at the weekend - but it seems pretty simple to me! Surely to get less throttle twist all you have to do is fit a throttle with a bigger cam!!! Big Cam = less travel = better useability?? Having spoken to ProTwins - who do a throttle mod using a 748/9** single cable throttle - they wrekon that they do the following . . . . Replace Throttle Assemblywith 9** item Replace Cables Replace and modify the cam on the throttle bodies Replace and modify the return spring on the throttle bodies They say that you have to replace the spring to make the new assembly light - otherwise its excessively hard to twist. I dont understand this bit at all. I believe that I will have to cut a little bit of the sleeving from the cables (I am talking a few mm) to accomodate the slightly increased travel - but apart from that it must be a straight forward job. I just need to understand the spring issue bit. Comments gratefully accepted. Khushy |
