| I had the opposite happen. I used a credit card which I hadn't used for a while, to buy some new sofas and a cooker - quite a bit of money.
The next day, I had a call from Bank of Scotland to confirm that I knew about the transactions. What freaked me out was the fact that it was an automated call! Definitely legit, as they never asked me to give any account number details, and said that if I wanted to speak to them I should call the number on the back of my card.
Shame not all the banks seem to have got it right yet. I'd rather be asked like that every time, and lose the contents of my current account!
