Superb viewing! It helps if you are of a certain age. That box of Kleenex tissues brought it all back to me as they always seemed to an identical box in the back of my Dads car! Also how clean people kept the street outside their houses. As a kid I remember how the women of the houses in the terraced steet where I grew up were always cleaning their doorsteps and sweeping the pavement outside their own houses, it was as if they were in competition with each other! By the way John Simm was a few years below me at my school. Also does anyone remember how the housewives of the time used to 'white' the edge of their doorstep? What was all that about? There was a good bit in last weeks episode with the white dog muck, was only having a conversation with a mate about it at xmas. Whatever happened to that? Also Curley whirley chocolate bars, I remember the day they first hit the shops as there was an Italian boy called Tito that lived at the bottom of our street that managed to get one before any of us had even seen one. All the kids on the street queued up as Tito stood on his back yard step giving select kids a first taste of Curley Whirley. Aah memories! |
