When I bought my 999 it was in the showroom with a load of 9*6s and 748s - they really looked old fashioned against it, though I think the styling of these earlier models is still stunning. They'll look good in 40 years in the same way a Gold Star or a Manx Norton still does now. Hopefully the 999 will be up there too in a few years time.
The thing that will sell the 1098 is the performance. I think it's design could have been a little braver. |
