The chip will not alter the heat of the fuel burn, just the rate at which the fuel is injected. The running parameters such as fuel flow and timing are programmed into the eprom and the computer utilizes these parameters to optimize the engines performance to suit the conditions(load,road speed,gear,temperature,etc). A good shop can tune a chip to match the modifications on your bike, typically done on a dyno.
