The running parameters such as fuel flow and timing are programmed into the eprom and the computer utilizes these parameters to optimize the engines performance to suit the conditions(load,road speed,gear,temperature,etc). A good shop can tune a chip to match the modifications on your bike, typically done on a dyno. |
