Reliability issues - a theory (not a very pc one) Unreliability – Ducati’s – NEVER… well maybe sometimes! I have a theory – not very pc as far as it goes but here goes anyway… It’s a well-known fact that the majority of the workforce in Bologna who build Ducatis are women. It is also a well-known fact, supported by extensive medical research, that women who work together often fall in synch in their menstrual cycles. There is evidence to support this from the medical profession as well as from other sources – I recall that one group tested was a bunch of nuns from the same convent. Another, very well-known, fact is that women can occasionally become emotional, moody or even murderous at certain ‘times of the month’. It has also been noted that this can also have a detrimental effect upon their ability to do their job properly at this time of the month (probably too busy planning their roller-skating in white trousers outings to the local park and the like). Occasionally a Ducati rolls off the production line which does not meet the usual high quality and standard of your average Ducati. My theory is that these bikes are ‘pre-menstrual’ Ducatis (PMD) which will cause the owner nothing but trouble. It is these particular PMDs that cause most of the problems and leads other (less discerning) motorcyclists to assume that all Ducatis are the same. Or p’raps I just have too much time on my hands... |
