OK, thanks for the replies everyone. My information about spindle size changes came from the Carozzeria website, where I was looking for aftermarket wheels. On this page, there's a drop down that seems to suggest a spindle size change:

Twpd - Thanks for the offer. I've already made some expensive mistakes with these 999 wheels and I honestly don't think I'll have time to get the bike to you before racing (March 28-29)
