Angry Chemical Metal, Glue, Solder or Braze?

I've managed to shear the -ve terminal off the battery when fitting an Optimate flylead this afternoon.

I don't intend to fork out £70 or whatever it is for a new battery, so I want to try to fix it. Long story short - I can get a good contact by wedging the end of the sheared off bit of the terminal between the battery body and the stub of the terminal. However, I need to secure it somehow.

What's the easiest/best way to do it?

My favourites at the moment are to either use chemical metal or melt some lead over and around the joint.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
