 Anyone know how to set-up an ol' Ducati (916 Strada)?
I can see this ending in a trip to a 'specialist', but was hoping that I'd be able to get things dialed in properly (or at least better) myself.
I have a 1994 Ducati 916 Strada (so different subframe and swing-arm from most later models), that's been uprated with an Ohlins rear shock and Ohlins forks (FG94's if I remember correctly).
Now, basic set-up was taken care of at the front by Maxton (service and set-up) and K-Tech at the rear (new spring rate and base setting).
Having fitted these onto the bike though, things are 'okay'
What I wanted to check was the ride height (since this is adjustable).
Okay, I may be getting to the limits of my understanding, but I'd read that changes were made from the very early 916, to get the chain adjuster/hub right to the end of it's adjustment (to get a small increase in wheel-base/length) and compensating for this, in turn, but resetting the ride-height.
So, adjusting the chain is dead easy (ish?) given the single-sided swing-arm (assuming that I don't run out of movement because of the number of links in the chain), but checking and setting the ride-height has me a little lost...
I've had a look for a tutorial (and tools), but can't place my fingers on the right information...
