On fire !!

Hi everyone. My new 1000ds SS is awaiting new lower fairing panels after the exhaust 'slipped' and rested against the plastic causing it to burn through on one side and melt the other. (After 200 miles!!) It looks to me like the jubilee clip securing the exhaust on the vertical drop directly behind the engine is too big to do the job. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Also, the fuel light keeps coming on at around 75 miles from a fill-up and staying on and the back brake doesn't work. Nice bike though.......
