I am new to this site but thought that I would contribute to this thread.

An italian company called Alpina developed a system of sealing spokes on wire wheels originally for supermoto use; but they also make specific wheels for the Sport Classic range so tubeless tyres (slicks or otherwise) can be used.

They quote the combined weight saving to be 1.5Kg. I have also seen people in the States using these wheels with four piston callipers. So it can be done.
