Tacho wiring/conversion help please

Ok. I have a tacho for a 900 monster which is activated by the ECU. I want to fit this to a carby 900. Now according to an earlier post the ECU type tacho will not run from the carby pickups/coils. However, my engine is a injection to carb conversion so still has the crank sensor pickup mount which I think is responsible for activating the ECU type tacho?

Can I wire the injection crank sensor in such a way that it produces a signal (without an ECU) for the ECU activated tacho to run properly?

I tested the 996 sensor and seems to only receive 2v with the ignition on which may cause a problem.

Thanks.
