Of course the Gixer is going to be faster with around 40hp more than the 996 but I think you will really love the way the 996 handles.

If you feel more comfortable with the tension tool then use it. As Phil say's after a few belt changes you get a feel for it.



Along with the belts get the alternator nut checked/re-torqued.
