A 5 year olds view of our roads..... Porbably a parents (and teachers - Lisa) - post this.... I had a charming chat with my 5 y.o. daughter on the way to school this morning.... 'daddy - wouldnt it be nice if all the roads were lovely and clean?' ME - 'yes sweetie - but theres lots of rubbish and only so many people to clean it up' 'but daddy, how about if all the roads didnt have any bumps in them or where we walk as well' ME - 'well, that would be nice - you could use your scooter on the pavement and have fun'. DAUGHTER SEES A MAN ON A PEDAL BIKE 'how about.....if there were no cars allowed on the roads as well - then you could take me to school on the back of your pedal bike with my seat on?' ME - 'I'd like that, it would be good to take you riding without worrying about all the traffic as well. Would you allow motorbikes on the roads as well?' 'ohhh yes - motorbikes would be OK - but we cant have any taxis' because mommy shouts at them a lot' ME - laughing 'I didnt know that - thats a great rule - but there's still a lot of other traffic on the roads - how about buses and lorries?' 'wellllll........buses are good because they carry lots of people and they can all talk together but, I dont like lorries....too big' ME - 'but they do carry food and lots and other things' LONG PAUSE 'couldn't they use a train daddy'? ME - 'Sweetheart you have my vote for Prime Minister' !!! I think shes smarter now than I was at about 25 or so - lol. Cheers - Frank |
