A 996 Bip should have no probs with a TL altho, the Bip is horribly overgeared for something like 180+ in top.

Just how "big" are you bigkev? Power to weight ratio would come into the equation!

45mm Termis? My teeny weeny 888's got a 50mm exhaust. Surely a bigger displacement engine would need better breathing? Maybe its being stifled.

Thrash it in each gear, on straights and corners.

The TL is pants, it doesn't go round corners and my 748 is a quick up to 100 as a gixer6, so whats the problem?

You are riding on the wrong roads, stay off the motorways.

Hmmm, strange one this.

I had trouble keeping up with Dukerob on a very long and bumpy road on my R1 last summer when he went chasing a GSXR, and he has very tall gearing on his 996, although it has been breathed on.

Red mist on the road is way risky (forget the law breaking, I'm talking about critical blunders). We all do it but hey, enough of the ride safe stuff.

More importantly, slim down to 8stone, lower the gearing (one tooth front sprocket), lightweight clutch (big difference), 45mm to 50mm or full 50mm termis plus chip, pipercross air filter, loose unsprung weight (magnesium/titanium/carbon), AP or brembo billet brakes, properly set up suspension, lighter flywheel, unclog fuel filter, diablo corse tyres, hunker down and don't drop below 6K revs. Worked for me.....

Change the front sprocket to 14tooth-best £18 you'll ever spend-and keep the revs over 6500, the TL will wonder which way you went.
