i wear alpinestars smx plus's but the oxtars are very good boots too.
Just when you get them please check that they wont bend sideways because if they do in the shop the will with your ankle in.

I've got the same boots as Antony, Alpinestars Goretex numbers and for the same reason, got sick of waterproofing gimmicks etc and used goretex kit when I was in the Army.

I've even crash tested them for you and caught my leg under the bike so they would scrape more and got my foot caught on the exhaust (see what I do for you mate!) - brilliant boots, I'm staying with Alpinestars.

Oh and, you know I'm not small. I've got a wide foot and they are super comfy.

I been using a pair of Daytona Security Evo for the last 2 years with a black outer for the road and red/white/black outer for the track. They're around £500 in the UK but I managed to get them via a German colleague for c.£300!

I thought that they were the best things ever until I tried some A'Stars SMX and they are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn (but they're BLUE!)

Oxtar TCS Evo, very good boot but cr@p in the wet. The velcro is coming loose though now after about 2 years and 12000 ish miles, so am replacing with Daytona Sports Evo GTX at Xmas. That's what Xmas is for...

Had Dainese Age Out before but they are narrow fitting across the front of the boot.

Also had Alpinestars GP Tech a few years ago, these were very narrow fitting and was told they had addressed this problem over the last few years and started making their boots with a slightly wider sole?

My old Gaernes, Strada Victory Plus, are the most comfy boot I have ever worn but dont seem to have any protection, very flimsy but make excellent mini moto boots cos you can bend your ankle into the position you need without them digging into your leg too much.

I wear the Daytonas too and I like them cos they're really comfy, and definately waterproof (goretex) had them for 3 years, and the only ones I know of that you can send back for re-soling approx. 50quid and they re-goretex them at same time...

good value for money, actually leather and so comfy......

Old Yella - The boots leaked badly at the base of the zip and at the tip of my toes when I was riding my R6, but they don't seem to be quite so bad on the 748. I think the overall position of my feet are now higher up and further back than on the R6, which may explain a little. It could have been a one off though, I've not heard anyone else complain.

Anyway, a pair of Seal Skinz socks would sort it out if you are a wet weather regular.

I recently had to throw my beloved Sidi's away after the sole wore through.I fancied a change so I bought some Oxtar TCS Evo boots at the GP.I got them for 30quid off rrp,so was well chuffed.They are pretty supple and bedded in quickly.They are pretty comfy for walking about in too.Only downside is that they squeek like a very squeeky thing from squeeksville!You get some silicone lube in the box,and despite soaking all the spine joints,the're still noisy.
I've also got a pair of AlpineStars SMX boots.(Non goretex)They leak like a sieve and a very uncomfy.I tried a pair of SMX plus on and could'nt bend my foot!How the heck are you supposed to change gear in those?They felt as though they would take months to bed in.

WD40 or windolene or Mr Sheen to get rid of the Oxtar squeeks.....

Like you said, bl@@dy comfy boots - can easily wear all day.
