I agree with Festa748, having had two mitsubushi evo's myself 5 & 6, but not bullet proof I ended up putting a g/box in both, mate of mine works for a company who prepare wrc rally cars, they do work on a few of there customers cars as well, he reckons that the two main faults with the evo's is the g/box and the yaw control, and fuel compsumption......forget it !

Sparkin. I am currently looking at getting a 5dr sport myself. Take a look on:

www.imprezasport.net

Loads of owners and some good advice (some crap too of course).

I've got a '98 Impreza sportwagon (non turbo).

It is a great car, plenty of room and very reliable but it is quite heavy on petrol.
I get about 30 mpg on a motorway run and maybe a bit less round town.
Mines done 45k without a hiccup.
Sevicing is expensive though, a normal service and cam belt cost me £400 - still not as expensve as a Ducati though

I'm selling mine because I'm in the army and going abroad for 6 months and I don't want it stood for all that time but to be honest I won't be buying another one when I get back, its too thirsty for what it is and would probably be selling it anyway.

If you don't mind petrol and servicing costs then they are not a bad motor and very reliable, plus 4 wheel drive.

Ok,

Its a '98 on an 'S' plate
Its done 45k
Until last year had a full Subaru Service History but after the 45k service (done when it had done about 38k) I've serviced it myself because its only a case of oil, plugs, filter etc
Just MOT'd it on 24th Dec so its got almost 12 months MOT

2 bad points.

its white
my neighbour backed into the left front wing and put a dink in it, the Subaru dealer quoted me £120 to have it done.

Other than that its tip top and its been a cracking motor, I've only got one complaint about it and thats it uses too much petrol for a family car.
I've tried to take a photo but its too dark really, here it is anyway.
Going cheap to save it from standing and depreciating while I'm away. Otherwise I'll probably hang onto it and part-ex it for a diesel when I get home.
