I've just booked up for the 18th too - not sure if I'll be able to whack the standard Monnie cans back on there and have enough ground clearance?

I might take the ZX too, I'll just bung the standard exhaust back on that if there's a problem with the Monster.

Now I'm off to book up some more trackdays prior to racing - anyone share their trackday schedule so we can hook up?

At least that way you can say your bike got a podium this season

as it happens, assuming i dont do the race then i may offer the bike out. i dont want to commit to anything in case my plans change and i have to let anyone down. but if im not using it, it will be something i will consider.

I received the bumpf through the post this morning. The bike must 'be up to full MOT standards', elsewhere 'Road Legal bikes over 250cc'.

Noise: "The limit is 105db(A) at 3/4 max revs measured 1/2 metre from the exhaust."

Elsewhere (twice): "The days are not test days for our race meetings."

Cheers,

ali

Does that mean I have to have lights fitted?

Castle Combe trackdays
The Noise limit is 105dB(A), measured at 0.5m from the exhaust outlet at 3/4 max revs

I haven't got this years ACU handbook yet and I can't find my 2004 copy so this is from the 2003 Roadrace rules

ACU
The limit is 105dB(A), measured at 0.5m from the exhaust outlet at 45 degrees @ 5500 rpm for a 600cc twin

A few hundred revs and a angle of 45 degrees makes quite a bit of difference.

ive done castle combe in cars- its like thruxton -- and yes they are strict on noise cos of the local villages several cars got tested and stopped!!! but is a great track altho a bit bumpy- going into quarry is unnerving until you get the braking point just right the rest of the track is sweeping bends and chicanes no tight hairpins and camp (the lasst corner) is a real out braking bend- get it right its brill - top tip use the kerbs!!!!!!!!any track days at thruxton??

Camp now has a chicane for the bikes it was added last September just before the BSB non championship meeting. I suspect it will be in use for all future Bike meetings
